Tahir Rahman, MD is a nationally recognized cancer psychiatry expert and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Washington University. He has over 25 years of experience as a board-certified psychiatrist. Dr. Rahman is also a key educator for residents at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. In 2023, Dr. Rahman won the Mitchell B. Balter Award for his work on the prevention of breast cancer in women treated with prolactin elevating antipsychotic drugs. He is now investigating the hormone prolactin, as well as the development of novel drugs through a strategic collaboration with the Washington University Center for Drug Discovery. Dr. Rahman is passionate about providing Cancer Psychiatry; assessing, diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions throughout a patient’s cancer journey.
